This site has been produced in celebration of years of meticulous genealogical research undertaken by members of the Cameron Clan in Australia.
Former Commissioner of Clan Cameron in Australia and President of Clan Cameron in New South Wales, the late Dr Robert Cameron has provided the backbone of Clan Cameron research over the last forty years. His painstaking research and attention to detail has inspired many others
Contributions have been received from all over Australia and from many other countries throughout the world. The Genealogies concentrate on Cameron families in Australia or those with an Australian connection, starting whenever possible with their Scottish origins. Most of the main Scottish families are included, many with details not previously published.
There has been a major update since the 3rd edition of Cameron Genealogies was published in three volumes and on CD in 2000. The collection is now far too large and complex to publish as a book or CD.
Families may be identified either through individuals, searched for by name and other identifying features, or by family through the Heads of Family where they are identified by a rather arbitrary file name and by a description which might be recognisable.
It must be stated that, while every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, all histories are incomplete to varying degrees and many will have mistakes. Many smaller histories will be shown eventually to connect to other families with the help of current and future researchers. Details of any errors of fact are welcome, as is any new information.
